Description

Grown in north Dublin and milled in Kilkenny, this flour by Oak Forest Mills is rewriting the possibilities of Irish wheat flour. This sifted flour is high in protein at 14% and is suitable for sourdough breads and pizza making. It is flavoursome and as can be seen by the colour, still contains some of the bran and germ from milling.

All of Oak forest Mills grains are 100% grown without the use of artificial chemicals and pesticides, stone-milled and considered a ‘fresh’ product.

Oak Forest Mills use stone mills that preserve more nutrients and flavour in the flour. The stone mills move more slowly than industrial roller mills and this helps to keep the flour cooler during the milling process.

The stone milling process grinds the whole grain berries together, incorporating the oils and bran from the grain into the flour. A stone mill produces a less refined flour than an industrial mill but stoneground flour has greater flavour and nutritional value
